With its close proximity to Denver, spectacular runs and lack of nightlife, Arapahoe Basin makes the perfect day trip for anyone looking to hit the slopes. Arapahoe boasts over 360 inches of snow each year spread out over 61 trails. For a walk on the wild side, try your luck at the Fifth Alley – one of the most challenging chutes in the world.

Arapahoe Basin generally stays open through June, making it one of the last ski areas to close for the summer. Free skiing is offered on its beginner lift and hill, Molly Hogan, all season long. The KBCO Cardboard Derby in February provides wacky fun as thrill seekers slide down the slopes in homemade vessels. Arapahoe Basin is located about 70 miles west of Denver.
