Braving the white water rapids of the Arkansas River is a must for all Colorado visitors. Many outfitters are based within a few hours of Denver, but Buffalo Joe River Trips runs the gamut in variety and conveniently offers both morning and afternoon departures. Located in Buena Vista, Buffalo Joe is two hours southwest of Denver off Highway 285.
The drive winds through the stunning Pike National Forest and several enchanting mountain towns. The floating beauty and scenic thrills of the rapids last anywhere from a half day to five days in length, with an interesting mix of overnight and multi day trips. They recommend a minimum age of 8. |
