At Castlewood Canyon, you can hike scenic trails along the rim of the canyon or enjoy a picnic lunch with great views, but it’s the rock climbing that attracts many people to Colorado’s Black Forest. The canyon is 36 million years old, with its imposing conglomerate rock cliffs offering numerous technical climbs.

The short steep cliffs provide a wide range of routes for all abilities. There is a Climber Trail that takes climbers to the base of the rocks. Castlewood Canyon is an ideal location for climbers with less experience.
