What do you get when you cross a first class museum with an amazing outdoor park? Garden of the Gods, located in Colorado Springs, is home to some of the most amazing red rock formations in Colorado. There is a 12-minute multi-media presentation inside the visitor’s center that must be seen before venturing into the park. There are also special interactive displays that offer entertaining explanations of the geology, plants, wildlife and history of the region.
You can either hike through the park or take the park bus. Go to the visitor’s center terrace to hear knowledgeable guides discourse about nature and the park. There is also a gift shop and a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating.
Summer hours are 8am – 9pm
Winter hours are 8:30am – 5:30pm |
