Winter Park ski resort has long been a Colorado favorite. You’re always assured of fresh powder with the 362 inches of snowfall they receive per year. Winter Park is mostly a day trip retreat because of its close proximity to Denver and lack of dining and nightlife.
The best time to hit the slopes is in April when the snow reaches its deepest levels and the weather usually warms enough for skiers to shed the normal bulky clothing - the price of lift tickets drops substantially, too. Winter Park is the only Colorado resort offering direct train service on the Winter Park Ski Train, which runs from Denver on the weekends – 1-800-977-2754. |
